cake molding object on Ace Of Cakes?

On the Food Network Show called Ace Of Cakes, they use that soft-looking molding thing. Its usually white-ish and they mold it over cakes then they put the iceing on top of it. what is it called??? if you know what im talking about please let me know what its called! thank u so much!

if it is flat and looks like a sheet of something, it is fondant. Feels and works like play doh but is made from sugar and syrup and other ingredients. Once that is flat and formed on the cake, they then can go ahead and decorate it. You can also use fondant to make things, just like play doh. I have seen decorators make flowers, acorns, people, just about anything you can imagine.
